ERS Design Engineer

Job Description

ioMosaic Corporation was founded by former senior staff of Arthur D. Little, Inc. to provide process safety and risk technology consulting services and software solutions.
Our areas of expertise include runaway reactions, pressure relief design, incident investigation, process hazard analysis, engineering design and support, consequence and risk analysis, and fire and explosion dynamics. We also provide training and litigation support in our areas of expertise.

Accountabilities
You will be accountable for evaluating and designing emergency relief systems (ERS). Your general responsibilities will include:
• Evaluating adequacy of existing pressure relief system installations and designing new pressure relief systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and recommended practices
• Developing detailed ERS design documentation for incorporation into client process safety information (PSI)
• Delivering high-quality technical evaluations on aggressive schedule and budget constraints
• Providing support for on-going safety and risk management case work outside of ERS design including LNG hazard analysis, HAZOP support, and litigation services
Position Definition
We are looking for highly-motivated self-starters with a desire to succeed and a willingness to learn. You will be provided with a mentor to train you in the finer aspects of ERS analysis and design and to further develop your engineering skills. Upon developing the necessary skills you will be working as a key member of our team performing ERS evaluations for the world’s largest production companies on a daily basis.
Required Attributes
• Engineering and/or consulting background with at least 2 years of experience in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries
• CAD experience highly desirable
• Good communication skills, including willingness to interact with various people
• High efficiency and organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Good technical writing capabilities, including presentation of technical material in a logical, usable manner
• Good problem solving abilities, including systematic approach to identification of problems and implementation of solutions
• BS or MS in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering
• Long-term desire to live and work in the Houston area
Key Challenges
• Through hands-on training, develop working knowledge of emergency relief systems and applicable industry standards
• Evaluate relief systems in a timely and efficient manner
• Deliver high-quality analysis documentation
• Grow the Houston location into a significant contributor for the company
