PRESENTATION INTRO
Last spring Texas A&M University was invited to become one of four partner institutions to employ recent graduates as College Advisers for the Advise TX College Advising Corps. The Advise TX College Advising Corps seeks to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented Texas high school students entering and completing post-secondary education. Through funding from the College Access Challenge Grant and other private sources, Texas A&M University has been afforded the opportunity to employ 32 former students to serve in high schools in Austin, Beaumont, Dallas, Houston, the Rio Grande Valley, and San Antonio. The presentation seeks to share with Houston Former Students the great work being done by the A&M College Advisers in an effort to connect the Advisers to their local Aggie Clubs and potentially forge lasting relationships between the Former Students in Houston and the local Advise TX chapter.
