AggieSat Lab: Aggie Spirit in Space

Marking four years of design, fabrication, and testing, on 30 July 2009, two miniature satellites AggieSat2 (Texas A&M) and Bevo-1 (University of Texas at Austin) were released from STS-127 Space Shuttle Endeavour on its return from the International Space Station. AggieSat Lab’s student team began the process of information retrieval from AggieSat2 at the Riverside ground station. AggieSat Lab’s multidisciplinary group, ranging from freshmen to graduate students, is currently gathering global positioning system (GPS) data from AggieSat2 for review by NASA Johnson Space Center.
