Mr. Smith graduated from A&M in 1963. Was in Co. F-2 from the first year it was formed (1959) -- a classmate in his outfit designed the fox that is still part of the logo! His first relative to graduate from A&M did so in the class of '79 -- 1879!
After spending over 30 years in the investment field, with almost 20 years in Paris, London and Hong Kong, he retired in 1998 to become a litigation consultant in Houston. In 2006, he decided to form a business importing French wines to Texas. He opened shop in February 2007 with their first shipment of wines and 40 names on our mailing list and no sales. They now represent 16 different French wineries, have over 800 names on their mailing list and are approaching $200k in sales.
Because of their permit, they are able to import and sell to retail and wholesale but about 90% of their wines are sold to individuals. They do not advertise and avoid publicity. Last year, they were named the "Ultimate Specialty Wine Shop" by the Houston Chronicle.
